During pre-departure program, as usual advance payments were made to 
scholars, to ensure each scholar have sufficient fundulation for the 
first few days, weeks and months after admission to the universities.

Following are the item paid under Advance Allowances;

1. Relocation or Placement Allowance  :    
   This once off allowance is paid an equivalent of 1 months full living 
   allowances. To cover for any logistic needs during your travel until 
   your arrival at your housing in the university. Such as for transportation, 
   lodging and meal during transit or early arrival at your university.

2. Advance Living Allowance :
   This advance consists of 3 months full living allowances = 300% stipend.
   If you will be living in university housing, please be aware that this
   is paid in excess to your actual entitlement.

   Therefore your following quarterly allowance payment will be adjusted
   accordingly.

   Type of Living Allowance (U1, U2, U3):   
U1. Full allowance  : 100% Stipend per month
                    - w/o housing/no meal plan   
U2. 60% allowance   : 60% Stipend per month
                    - with housing/no meal plan   
U3. 40% allowance   : 40% per month
                    - with housing and meal plan

example: if you have received advance payment and are on U3 living allowance, 
you next allowance will be in Jan 2007 as follows;

3. Clothing Allowance   :  This is once off pay.

4. Book Allowance  : 
   Paid twice a year, 40% in Qtr 1, and 60% in Qtr 3,

5. Equipment Allowance  :  
   Paid twice a year, 40% in Qtr 1, and 60% in Qtr 3, 
   your next will be in Qtr 3.
