Scholars are advised to complete your studies within the time period stated 
in your sponsorship offer letter and agreement. However, should you have difficulties 
in your studies and may have to extend your stay, you need to submit your application 
for either extension of sponsorship duration or deferment of service period to the 
Student Advisor. These need to be done at least one year or two semesters prior to your
scheduled completion.

These applications will be dealt with on case by case basis. The application procedures 
are as found below:

a. 	Procedure for Extension:

	i. 	You must write to the Student Advisor stating your reasons for 
		Extension. You will need to include a supporting letter from 
		the University verifying the need to extend your period of study. 
		You have to include your study plan too.

	ii. 	The Student Advisor will forward the application together with the 
		Student Advisor's recommendation and supporting documents to the 
		Country Desk in Kuala Lumpur for Management's decision.

	iii. 	You will then be notified by the Student Advisor on the Management's 
		decision.

b. 	Procedure for Deferment:

	i. 	You must write to the Student Advisor stating your reasons for 
		deferment. You have to include supporting documents relevant to 
		the application.

	ii. 	The Student Advisor will forward the application together with the 
		Student Advisor's recommendation and the supporting documents to the 
		Country Desk for Management's decision.

	iii. 	You will then be notified by the Student Advisor on the decision 
		made by the Management.
